On Wednesday Devon's Mum Jenny came in to our room to help us make Christmas cards.  We think they are awesome!

Puppet making!

Today for art we had a lot of fun using up all the scraps of paper. We made all sorts of puppets. They look amazing.

Sound Art

Check out the fantastic art we have been doing for art! We also wrote lipograms. They are sentences that do not use a certain letter. We were not allowed to use the letter e. Here is an example. Tayla is fantastic at singing our school song - by Pipi.

Science time

Today we decided to have some fun and do a science experiment. It was very exciting! We put skittles in a dish and then poured water on them. Look what happened!

Our Finished Rain Makers

Look at our finished rain makers. They look and sound amazing. We are really proud of them.

Go Makos Day!

Today we wore red and blue to school to show our support for our rugby team the Makos. We wanted to wish them luck for their final tomorrow. We really hope they win. Fins up!

Rain makers part 2

Today we added the second coat to our rain makers. Next we will fill them with and add the other end on. Then we will do our final coat. They are looking good!

Kath Bees visit

On Friday Kath Bee came to visit us.  She sang to us and we sang with her. She played the guitar she also plays the ukelale too.I went up the front on stage and we did the actions for the song 'Dad, I want to be a camel'.  Kath Bee gave us a balloon and we made it into a sausage dog.

Room 9 shared ther masks and we wanted to make some to. We think they're really, really great.

Sensational Smoothies

Today we made fruit smoothies as part of our health unit on Healthy Breakfasts. We used the left over yoghurt we made for our Parfaits. They tasted nice and fresh.

Room 3's awesome Parfaits

Parfaits. We used fruit salad, muesli, yoghurt and raspberry sauce. We put two layers of each ingredient. They tasted sooooooo yum!

Pretty patterns!

Today we started learning about algebra patterns. It was a lot of fun and learning making, talking about and continuing our own and other peoples patterns.

Fundamental Skills Week Fun!

This week Room 3 has been at the stadium doing all kinds of awesome physical education - swimming lessons, water safety, flipperball, basketball, cricket and circuit training. They have been learning amazing skills and they have made me so proud with their great sportsmanship and awesome attitudes. Mrs Null

This morning everyone in our class got a letter from the Board of Trustees.

We were very excited to get our own letter.

The Board is going to think about our ideas for the playground .

We had lots and lots of fantastic suggestions .

Beautiful Dancing Girls

Today our junior dancers shone when they showed their parents their dance moves after a term with Jess their lunchtime dance teacher. They were great.

We have been busy this week writing 'friendly' letters. We enjoyed writing to someone special to us and making our envelopes look very flash!

Wacky hair day

Or, oar, aw or ore?

Today for spelling we were talking about the 'or' phoneme. We discovered that there were a lot of different ways that the same sound can be made. At reading time the children wrote up words with 'or' sounds in them when they discovered them in their reading books so we could see which way to spell it was the most common.

Today in reading I was reading a poem it was about Fire rap it was about if your cloths were on fire I learnt you have to drop to the ground and roll.by Hannah .

We made posters to advertise our fruit jelly that will be for sale at our school Harvest Friday today. They are bright, easy to read, have a picture of what we are selling, the price and some persuasive words.
